PIERSON, Iowa -- Lauren Ann Herbold, 11, of Pierson died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, of injuries suffered in a snowmobile accident.

Joint services for Lauren and her three friends will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Kingsley-Pierson School gymnasium in Pierson. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m., at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Kingsley, Iowa. There will be a funeral mass at 7 p.m. today at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rohde-Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley.

Lauren was born July 21, 1992, in Sioux City, the daughter of Bud and Patty (Spooner) Herbold. She was very active in school activities, played the drums in the band, loved singing and hugging.

She was very active in catechism and very positive about life.

Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Bud and Patty Herbold of Pierson; two brothers, Phillip and Jess Herbold, both at home; a sister, Danielle Herbold at home; maternal grandmother, Alfreda Spooner of Pierson; paternal grandparents, Eugene and Jackie Herbold of Pierson; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Warren Spooner; and her cousin, Matthew Schweitzberger.
