16 December 2003PIERSON, Iowa -- Kylie Koch, 10, of Pierson died unexpectedly Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, from a snowmobile accident near Pierson that also claimed the lives of her three friends.
Joint services for the girls will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Kingsley-Pierson School gymnasium in Pierson. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m., at Rohde-Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley, Iowa.
Kylie was born July 27, 1993, in Sioux City, the daughter of Doug and Denise (O'Hara) Koch. She was presently an "A" student in the fifth grade at Kingsley-Pierson Middle School.
She was full of life and love and passed that energy and love on to everyone she met. She loved playing softball, dancing and playing drums, but most of all, being a loving sister to Sheena, Cayla, Shawna and Christian. She loved spending time with her friends, especially Kallie, Lauren and Hanna. When the four girls were not together, they were on the phone with each other. Kylie was also very proud to be "Little Miss Pierson" in 2002. She took great pride and pleasure in becoming a new aunt to Sheaunna Graves.
She was an active member of Pierson United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed summer camp at New Life Baptist Church and special events with the Rev. Cecil Dale.
She will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Doug and Denise Koch of Pierson; three sisters, Cayla and Shawna, both at home, and Sheena and her husband, Chad Graves of Sioux City; a brother, Christian at home; a niece, Sheaunna Graves of Sioux City; grandparents, Bill and Mina Koch of Pierson, and Lynn and Linda Barnes of Sioux City; great-grandmother, Esther Koch of Pierson; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorials and expressions of sympathy may be directed to a memorial fund established at American National Bank in Pierson.
