Rose B. Dodson, 82, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gary B. Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., a St. Casimir's Rosary Society rosary at 6:30 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at Larkin Morningside Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dodson, the former Rose B. August, was born Dec. 8, 1921, in Sioux City, the daughter of John J. and Elizabeth M. (Fahey) August. She graduated from East High School in 1939. She had lived in Sioux City most of her life.

She married William R. Dodson at the Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Long Branch, N.J., on July 6, 1943. She was a homemaker and housewife.

She was a former member of St. Casimir Catholic Church and a current member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She also was a member of St. Casimir Rosary Society. She was an avid reader.

She is survived by her husband, William R. "Bill" Dodson of Sioux City; a son and his wife, William G. and Kim Dodson of Le Mars, Iowa; a daughter and her husband, Susan E. and Larry Barrier of Morgantown, N.C.; a brother and his wife, Joseph J. and Evelyn August of San Leandro, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Gloria A. August of Sioux City and Yvonne and her husband, Russell Peterson of St. Paul, Minn.; six grandchildren, Aubrey, Jared and Morgan Dodson and Tobias, Rebecca and Christopher Barrier; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Larry A., Jack and Bill E. August.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
