Albert H. Henrichsen, age 89, of Correctionville, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Correctionville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Correctionville. A memorial service was held on Saturday, August 6, 2011, 10:30 a.m. at the St John Lutheran Church, Cushing, Iowa with the Rev Beverly J Wolff officiating. Sally Deeds served as organist with congregational singing.

Pallbearers were grandson's and nephews, Scott Henrichsen, Anthony Henrichsen, Shawn Henrichsen, Clayton Henrichsen, Jon Henrichsen, Jerry Sindt and Russ Henrichsen.

Honorary pall-bearers were granddaughters, Kristi Point, Jennifer Henrichsen, Michelle Aasen, Ruth Gillespie, Elizabeth Henrichsen, Amy Hibbs, Carrie Azure and Brenda McNaughten. Burial will be at the Cushing Cemetery of Cushing at a later date. Military rites will be conducted by the VFW Sioux Valley Post #1750 and the American Legion Mumford-Moon Post #79 of Correctionville. The Nicklas D Jensen Funeral Home of Correctionville is in charge of the arrangements.

Albert Herbert Henrichsen was born September 13, 1921 on the family farm north of Cushing. He was the youngest of six children born to Carsten and Gesena (Janssen). He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Albert married Evelyn Stroud on May 11, 1944 in the church parsonage in Holstein Iowa.

Albert served in the U.S. Navy during WWII Making four trips across the ocean, with ports in England, France and Belgium. Outside of his time in the service, Albert was a lifelong farmer. He moved into Correctionville in October 2010.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ervin, Vernon and Elvie; and two sisters, Bernita Thorborg and Ethel Sindt; and an infant daughter, Pamela.

Albert is survived by his wife of 67 years, Evelyn of Correctionville, IA; four sons, Thomas (Wyma) Henrichsen of Correctionville, IA, Vincent (Vickie) Henrichsen of Sioux City, IA, Reed (Deb) Henrichsen of Des Moines, IA, and Van (Debbie) Henrichsen of Pea Ridge, AR; thirteen grandchildren, Scott (Erin) Henrichsen of Louisville, NE, Amy (Jim) Hibbs of Johnston, IA, Shawn Henrichsen of West Des Moines, IA, Carrie (Tim) Azure of Eden, SD, Brenda (Gene) McNaughton of San Diego, CA, Kristi (Justin) Point, of Sioux Falls, SD, Jennifer Henrichsen of Des Moines, IA, Jon (Stacy) Henrichsen of Cumming, IA, Michelle (Mark) Assen of Pleasant Hill, IA, Russ Henrichsen of Chicago, IL, Ruth (Jake) Gillespie of Rogers, AR, Elizabeth (Russ) Henrichsen Schaffer of Rogers, AR, Anthony Henrichsen of Pea Ridge, AR; four step-grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Pearl Henrichsen.
