Ardelle L. Johnson, Sloan, Iowa passed away Sunday, September 19, 1971 at the Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, Iowa after a short illness. She had reached the age of 48 years, 3 months and 13 days.

She was born June 6, 1923 at Aurelia, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Ruth Gerjets and had been a resident of Sloan for the past 25 years.

She was united in marriage to Marvin E. Johnson on Sept. 12, 1948 at Sioux City, Iowa.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin, of Sloan; two daughters, Lynne Reliford of Kansas City,
Mo. and Laurie of Sloan; a son, Lane of Sloan; her mother, Mrs. Loyd (Ruth) Phillips of Glendale,
Ariz.; 2 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Arza (June) Craig of Phoenix, Ariz. and three brothers, Darreld Gerjets of Duluth, Minn., Kenneth (Barney) of Sioux City and Loren of Ames, Iowa.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1971 at the United Congregational Church in
Sloan with the Rev. Henry Held officiating. Mrs. Howard Pope gave comfort in song, accompanied
by Mrs. Mary Miltenberger.

Casket bearers were William Reed, John Hendricks, Earl Byers, Wayne Peterson, Steve Hopkins and Howard Pope. Interment was in the Sloan Cemetery with arrangements by the Wood Funeral Home of Sloan and Whiting.
