23 August 2013SIOUX CITY | Curtis C.J. Steckelberg of Sioux City passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, in Round Rock, Texas, and is at peace with the Lord and his brother, Jeff.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Morningside Assembly of God in Sioux City. Private graveside services will be at a later date. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
He was born on June 28, 1959, to Elma Law and Robert Steckelberg. He worked alongside his father at Bekins Distribution Center and also at the Lincoln zoo.
He was a firecracker, with a compassionate spirit who loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed kayaking and fishing.
Survivors include his children, Mindy Zimmerman, Nathan, Aleathea Mills, Nick, Matt, Jada Newton; 10 grandchildren with one on the way; his parents, Robert and Elma Steckelberg; two sisters, Jody Hinrichsen and Jamie Steckelberg; numerous nieces and nephews; and his girlfriend, Nan Bennett.
The family requests no flowers, memorials may be made to his family.
He will be missed, but we all know he is at peace.
