Ann Marie Christophersen was born on the family farm north of Danbury, on July 6, 1938, to Albert and Mary (Brenner) Petrositch. She received her education at Danbury Catholic Schools, graduating with the class of 1956. She never tired of telling stories of her school years, a time she much enjoyed with all her school chums. Growing up on the farm, she loved working outside with her Dad.

On Nov. 24, 1956, she was united in marriage to Alvin Christophersen at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Danbury. They began their married life on a farm northwest of Danbury, moving to an acreage southwest of Mapleton in 1965. In 2007, she and her husband moved into Danbury. She was primarily a homemaker and mother and with her husband raised five children. She was an excellent cook. She was also employed at Shelly’s Hair House and Piccadilly Circus Pizza, both in Mapleton, for several years.

Ann loved animals, especially birds, chickens and dogs, her favorite being Bubba, their St. Bernard. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mapleton as well as St. Mary’s Guild.

Ann is survived by her husband of 56 years, Alvin; sons, Joe (Shelly) of Bronson, Iowa, Dan "Semore" (Donna) of Whiting, Iowa, Pete (Tracy) of Sioux City, and Tony of Smithland, Iowa; daughter, Lisa (Lonnie) Bockelmann of Hornick, Iowa; a "fifth son", Jochen Krudewig of Germany; six grandchildren; a great-granddaughter and another great-grandchild on the way; a sister, Jan Petrositch of Danbury; and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy French of Carroll, Neb., and Leona Montang of California.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1968; her brother, Bill, in 2000; her mother in 2009; and her son-in-law, Rick Yockey in 2008.
