Dean Miller, 58, of Sioux City died Thursday, March 7, 2002, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Philip Rohler officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will he 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and an Elks Lodge service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Miller was born June 12, 1943, in Ord, Neb., the son of Alva C. and Jennie (Kasselder) Miller. He graduated from Kearney (Neb. High School in 1961, then from Kearney State Teachers College.

He married Andrea 0. Larsen on Nov. 28, 1965 in Kearney. Following his graduation from Kearney State Teachers College, Dean was a teacher for 11 years, teaching biology and coaching wrestling and football. In 1971 the couple moved to South Sioux City. They moved to Sioux City in 1979. He worked for AC&R Specialists for 22 years.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge 112 and an avid Nebraska "Big Red" fan.

Survivors include his wife, Andrea Miller of Sioux City; a son and his wife, Shawn and Jeni Miller of Sioux City; a daughter and her husband, Angie and Jim Wilson of Sioux City; and three grandchildren, Tanner and Trent Wilson and Madison Miller.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Neil Magnusson, Don and Ron Stingley, Pat Kavanaugh, Fred Mersch and Brian Williams.
