Mary Pauline Determan 1916 - 2002

Mary Pauline Determan of Eugene, Oregon, died March 16 of age related causes. She was 85.

Visitation was on Monday, March 18th at Poole-Larsen Funeral Home in Eugene. The funeral service was on Tuesday, March 19th at St. Mary Catholic Church. Entombment was at Springfield Memorial Gardens.

Determan was born December 21, 1916, in Danbury, Iowa, to John and Elizabeth Welte Uhl. She married Edwin Determan in Danbury, on May 19, 1946. He died Sept. 10, 1974.

She was a homemaker and mother. She enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, nature, reading and children. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Eugene.

She lived in Apache Junction, Arizona, before moving to Eugene in 1955.

Survivors include three sons, John of Phoenix, Arizona, Larry of Oak Harbor, Washington, and Joel of Portland, Oregon; two daughters, Connie Swartz of Eugene and Eileen Frack of Neenah, Wisconsin; three brothers, Alfred Uhl of Mapleton, Iowa, Charles Uhl of Ida Grove, Iowa, and Leo Uhl of Danbury; a sister, Helen Weber of Mapleton, Iowa; and seven grandchildren.
