Glenn Patterson of Danbury, Iowa, passed away on March 29, 2002, in Sioux City at the age of 69 years, 10 months, and 1 day.

The vigil wake service was held on Sunday, March 31, 2002, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury. The Funeral Mass was held on April 1, 2002, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Revs. Bill Schreiber and Ray Weiling officiating.

Pallbearers were Peter Fitzpatrick, Alvis Wessling, Tim Treiber, Clem Wessling, Jr., Dennis Moser, Stan Sexton, and Leo Uhl. Interment was in Danbury Catholic Cemetery near Danbury.

Arrangements were made under the direction of Armstrong Funeral Service.

Glenn James Patterson was born May 28, 1932, at Smithland, Iowa, the son of Glenn F. and Lorraine (Dunn) Patterson. He grew up in the area and graduated from St. Patrick's Academy in Danbury with the class of 1949. He furthered his education by attending winter semesters at Iowa State University in Ames studying Animal Husbandry while continuing in the farm operation at home the remainder of the year. His life's work was in agriculture, farming the family farm near Danbury.

On September, 25, 1982, Glenn was united in marriage to Cecelia Marx at the Cathedral in Sioux City, Iowa.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury. Glenn volunteered hundreds of hours at the Department of Human Services in Sioux City for which he was recognized by Governor Terry Branstad in person and was presented a plaque. He felt deeply proud of this accomplishment.

Those survivors left to cherish Glenn's memory include Cecelia, his wife of 19 years; one sister and her husband Reba Ann and Leon Benschoter of Omaha, Nebraska; one brother and his wife, Loyde and Irene Patterson of Georgetown, Georgia; many nieces and nephews; four sisters-in-law, Mary Dierking and Margaret Craig, both of Ponca, Nebraska, Helen Meylor and her husband, Pat of Vermillion South Dakota, and Sue Comstock and her husband Dan of South Sioux City, Nebraska; and two brothers-in-law, John Marx and his wife, Pat of Lubbock, Texas, and Nick Marx and his wife, Mary of McCook Lake, South Dakota.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
