Steven A. Shever of Correctionville, Iowa, died suddenly Sunday, March 31, 2002, at Sergeant Bluff, Iowa.

Services were held Thursday, April 4, 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Cushing, with Reverend Sheryl K. Ashley officiating. Betty Anfinson was the pianist.

Pallbearers were Randy Zahnley, Kerry Schubert, Jim Joy, Lee Barkema, David Gehrke, Ken French, Dennis Joy, and Bruce Henderson. Honorary pall-bearers were Danny Halligan and Bill Speirs.

Don and Mamie Joy took care of flowers and Bruce Henderson and Jeff Henderson arranged cars.

Interment was in the Cushing Cemetery under the direction of Barker Funeral Home.

Mr. Shever was born February 3, 1959, at Cherokee, the son of Delbert and Mary (Arp) Shever. He graduated from Eastwood High School in 1977.

He was an owner-operator of Steven Trucking, Inc. of Correctionville.

Steven was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Cherokee Ridge Runners.

Survivors include four children, Randi, Vincent, Shalee and Trenton; his parents, Delbert and Mary Shever of Cushing; two brothers and their wives, Bryan and Lynette and Craig and LeeAnn of Cushing; a grandmother, Mabel Shever of Cherokee, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Albert Shever, maternal grandparents, Ralph and Elsie Arp and one nephew, Aaron Shever.
