Mildred Berniece Allman, 90, a long time rural Oto resident, died Saturday, March 30, 2002, at Sioux City.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 3, 1:00 p.m. at United Methodist Church in Anthon with Pastor Laurice Streyffeler officiating. Mary Jo Lyon served as organist and Roger Hladik was the soloist.

Pallbearers were Larry Jackson, Dick Lillie, Owen Riddle, Larry Bumsted, Walter Paulsen, and Gale Volk.

A prayer service was held on Tuesday evening at the Armstrong Chapel in Anthon. Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City under the direction of Armstrong Funeral Service.

Mildred was born December 13, 1911, at Smithland, Iowa the daughter of George Newton and Olive Mabel (Francis) Jackson. She graduated from Oto High School with the class of 1930. On February 23, 1935, Mildred was united in marriage to Millard K. Allman in Sioux City. The couple lived and farmed near Oto their entire life until moving to Lawton in November, 2001.

She was a member of the united Methodist Church in Anthon, the UMW, and a former member of the W.S.C.S. at Piero Bethel Church. Mildred enjoyed baking, fishing, gardening, flowers, and watching her favorite basketball team. Her greatest love was her fancily.

Survivors include her husband, Millard; one son, Keith Allman of Oto; one daughter, Mary Jane Shanahan and husband Leo of Sioux City; ten grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great -great- grandchildren; and other relatives, neighbors and friends.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Alice Lillie; grandson, Gregory Bumsted; granddaughter, Cynthia Bumsted; and two brothers, Mervin and Harland.
