Maxine E. Strong 1920 - 2009

SIOUX CITY -- Maxine E. Strong, 89, of Lubbock, Texas, formerly of Sioux City and Dakota City, passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, in Lubbock.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Dakota City Cemetery. Local arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service. Funeral services were held Dec. 5 in Lubbock.

Maxine was born to Millard and Violet Hiserote on May 5, 1920, in Homer, Neb. She was united in marriage to Raymond F. Strong on July 7, 1936, in South Sioux City.

Maxine was a faithful member of Assembly of God Church. She loved spending time with her family, reading and playing gospel songs on the piano. Her father was a minister who helped establish Assembly of God Church in South Sioux City.

She is survived by two sons, Robert Strong and his wife, Kay of Lubbock, Texas, and Rocky Strong and his wife, Bertha of Del Rio, Texas; one daughter, Patsy and her husband, Ray Keys of Salem, Ore.; her grandchildren, Debbie Strong, Robin Porter, Kevin Strong, Brenda Ribordy, Jimmy Williams, Brad Williams, Pam Reed, Angie King, Tommy Strong, Nathaniel Braun, Natasha Braun, Desriee Keys, R.C. Keys, Aaron Strong, Rae Ann Hamm and Denise Henderson; 31 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray in 1996; sons, Raymond Jr. and Richard; a grandson, Mitchell Strong; her sisters, Lillie Matney, Luelle Rich, May Rose and Mildred Hiserote; and her brothers, Walter Hiserote and David Hiserote.
