SIOUX CITY -- Minna Rose (Mrs. William C.) Seff, 93, of Sioux City passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at Bickford Cottage.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Congregation Beth Shalom, with Rabbi Guy Greene officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.

Minna Rose was born July 12, 1916, in Atchison, Kan., to Harry and Dolly Berkson. She was raised and received her education in Atchison before marrying William C. Seff on Aug. 12, 1943, in Omaha, Neb. The couple made their home in Sioux City, where Minna Rose was a homemaker.

Minna Rose was a member of Congregation Beth Shalom and was a member of the sisterhood. In past years, she was active in the Sioux City Symphony and was a volunteer head of the gift gallery at the Sioux City Art Center. Minna Rose enjoyed reading, gardening and traveling, especially her trip to Europe in 1972. Spending time with family and friends was a favorite pastime for Minna Rose. She was a caregiver to her son, Roger, for 16 years prior to his death. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Minna Rose is survived by her daughter, Barbara Nan Seff of Sioux City; two brothers, James Berkson of Washington, D.C., and Myron Berkson and his wife, Audrey of Las Vegas, Nev.; and two sisters, Shirley Steinberg and her husband, Harold and Betty Kopin and her husband, Donald, all of Overland Park, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; her son, Roger James Seff; and sisters, Elizabeth (Libby) Glass, Frances Jacobson and Margo Burke.
