Max R. Rysdam, 75, of Santa Cruz, California, died November 30, 2002 at Santa Cruz Hospital of a shot illness of cancer. Services were held December 8th in Santa Cruz.

He was born in Hornick, IA, son of Pete and Bertha Rysdam. He attended Sloan High School. He served in the Navy during World War II and in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He moved to Santa Cruz, California in 1946, where he worked at T.J. Wrigley and Lipton factories and later owned "Max Rotatilling Service".

He enjoyed gardening, also driving his restored Model T Ford and he loved his Cocker Spaniel, "Fritz".

He is survived by two daughters, Brenda and her husband of Soquel, California and Robin and her husband of Santa Cruz, two granddaughters, one brother Harold Rysdam of Santa Cruz, two sisters, Cecile Gay and Virginia Larson both of Sloan, IA and Opal Pauk of Story City, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews.
