lona Agatha Stoulp, 83, Salix, Iowa died Monday December 16, 2002 in a Sioux City hospital.

lona was born June 13, 1919 in Salix, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer and Evelyn (Lamoureux) Brouillette. She attended St. Joseph School in Salix where she graduated in 1938.

She married Earl "Corney" Stoulp July 30, 1946 in Sioux City. They lived in the Salix and Sloan areas until 1956 when they moved to LA Puente, CA, In 1988, the couple and two of their children returned to Salix where Corney passed away January 12, 1995. 

lona worked several years at the Sloan Cafe and also in a Defense Plant during the 1940's. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Marla May of San Clemente, CA and Mary Stoulp of Salix: a son Edward Stoulp of Salix: three grandchildren, Chad, Michael and Danielle; a great grandchild Hayden May; a brother Errol Brouillette of Salix: five sisters Oujda Patterson of Salix, Dolores Johnson and Ellabelle Peterson of Sloan, Lavon Tice of Fairfield Bay, AR and Lois Holzman of LeMars, IA.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Elaine Zwinger and Lillian Small.

The funeral mass was 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 19, 2002 at St. Joseph Catholic Church at Salix, Iowa with Father Donald J. Slaven, celebrant. Don Bovinett was cantor and Jayne Koch was organist. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation was 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2002 at the church with a Christian wake service at 7:00 p.m. Arrangements were under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Casket bearers were Denny, Jerry, Doug. Jeff and Bob Brouillette, Stan Johnson and Bill Dubois.
