Delores C. Hackett, 89, of Sioux City died Thursday Feb. 28, 2002, at a Sioux City retirement home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the Rev. Merlin Schrad officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., all at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mrs. Hackett was born Aug. 5, 1912, in Elk Point, S.D., the daughter of Bernard Matthew and Palmier (Bernard) McGarr. She graduated from Central High School. She married Charles Hackett on Aug. 9, 1933, in Sioux City. He died May 8, 1970, in Sioux City. She worked for St, Joseph Hospital. Family Practice and then the Sioux City Police Department.

She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where she sang in the choir. She had been a member of Catholic Daughters of America. She was a member of the Siouxland Senior Center.

Survivors include two sons and their wives. Jack and Joan Hackett of Readyville, Tenn., and Jeff and Connie Hackett of Sioux City: a daughter and her husband, Julie and Steve Larson, Janesville, Wis.; three sisters. Theresa Tatarka of Engelwood, Calif., and Imogene Mansfield and Barbara Kemp both of Tucson, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a son. James B. Hackett: a daughter, Jane E. Vondrak; a brother, Paul McGarr; and two sisters, Marie and Bernadine McGarr.

Pallbearers will be Steve Larson, Lynn Vondrak, S.J. Larson, Matthew Hackett, Tony Vondrak and Michael Hackett.
