Earl Pierce passed away on November 9, 2008.
Born on November 2, 1930, to Louis and Bethine (Greenstreet) Pierce in Danbury, IA, he graduated from high school in 1948. He was in the Air Force National Guard from 1950 to 1952.
On August 19, 1956, he married Alice "Jean" Proskocil in Sargent, NE. In 1957 they moved to Sargent where they farmed. To this union three daughters were born, Betty, Barbara, and Carol. In 1962 they moved to Omaha where he worked various jobs in the area before finding his niche at Millard Lumber in 1983. He retired from Millard Lumber in 1993.
Earl enjoyed spending time with his family and doing things with his grandkids and great grandsons. He also enjoyed reading, bowling, fishing, playing cards, playing Bingo, and watching his grandkids play sports. He also loved his trips, to Las Vegas. He was on the Millard Volunteer Fire Department for 18 years. He also had a recreational pilot's license for 3 years in the 1970s.
Earl's survivors include his daughters Betty (Dave) Huxhold, Barbara (Curtis) Witt, and Carol (Mike) Wiggins; grandchildren Hillary and Jesse Chrastil, Jill and Jason Thomas, Brian Huxhold, Hannah Witt, Jarret Witt, Justin Wiggins, Tyler Wiggins, Shawn Huxhold, and Jason Huxhold; great grandchildren Dakota Huxhold, Austin Thomas, Owen Chrastil, Dylan Thomas, and Logan Thomas; brothers Arthur Pierce of Tucson, AZ, and Harold Pierce of Tucson, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and his sister.
