Wayne S. Bramble, 79, of Billings, Mont., formerly of Sioux City, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Billings.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Cremation or Funeral Galleries in Billings.
Mr. Bramble was born in Sioux City, the son of Edwin and Clara (Raby) Bramble. He was raised in Sioux City, where he attended high school.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1939. He was stationed at March Field, Calif. with the 49th Fighter Squadron and served as a crew chief for a P-38 Lightning. He was transferred to Africa and England in 1942.
He married Beverly Benson on April 4, 1945. Following his discharge, he was employed with the U.S. Post Office for 31 years; retiring in December 1975.
He was a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veteran. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a friend of Bill W.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter and her husband, Kandace and Lou Aleksich Jr.; a son, Gary; a brother, Edwin of Sergeant Bluff; a sister and her husband, Doris and Willy Schroeder of Salix, Iowa; three grandsons, Blake Johnson, Bradley Schulz and Sean Bramble; and a great-grandson.
Memorials may be directed to Big Sky Hospice in Billings.
