Marcel M. Foix, 85, of Sioux City died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at his residence of cancer.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church with the Rev. Kevin M. Richter officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be. 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., a vigil service at 7 p.m., and a rosary recited at 7:30 p.m., all at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Mr. Foix was born July 13, 1915, in Benson, Minn., the son of Aaron and Armand (Mingo) Foix.
He married Dorothy Kenefake on Nov. 9, 1946, in Sioux City. He moved to Sioux City in 1930 and had lived here since. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He worked for Edwards and Brown Coal Company, and then for Palmer Fruit Company for 18 years. He later worked for Sesco for 12 years, retiring in 1984.
He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 383, St. Boniface Catholic Church and the men's club.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Michael of Sioux City, Aaron and his wife, Cynthia of Hornick, Iowa, and Timothy of Sioux City; five daughters, Patricia and her husband, Michael Bockholt of Sioux City, Marsha Honke of Sioux City, Katherine Bogenrief of Sioux City, Linda Foix of Golden Valley, Minn., and Mary and her husband, Jerry Miller of Sioux City; a brother, Edmund of Sioux City; a sister, Edna Wall of Stillwater, Minn.; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two great grandchildren; a son-in-law, Greg Bogenrief; and a brother-in-law, Howard Wall.
Pallbearers will be Adam and David Bogenrief, Stephen and Scott Moore, Greg Bockholt and Jason Foix.
