Emery Nickolas Frank, 85, of Sioux City died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Nativity Catholic Church with the Rev. Brian Danner officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. today, with family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., all at Larkin Morningside Funeral Home.
Mr. Frank was born April 24, 1915, in Remsen, Iowa, the son of Michael H. and Emma C.(Klosterman) Frank. He married Emma L. Richou on April 10, 1948, in Sioux City. He was raised in the Remsen area and moved to Sioux City in 1948. He drove truck for Hiedle Brau Brewery and Kaplan Wholesalers. He also drove a sand and gravel truck for many years. He retired in 1974.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a member of Nativity Catholic Church and the parish Men's Club. He was a member of the 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus Epiphany Council 743. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge and the Boys of '68'. He enjoyed playing cards and jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include his wife; two brothers, the Rev. Richard Frank of Honduras, and James and his wife, Shirley Frank of South Sioux. City; two sisters and their husbands, Rosemary and Marvin Mai of Omaha, and Donna and Marvin Pick of Marcus, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leander and Donald Frank; and a sister, Lorraine Steichen.
Pallbearers will be Doug Nelson, Guy Frank, Thad Morse, Ron Richou, Randy Scott and Dave Steichen.
A memorial has been established in his name for the Mary-Knoll Missionaries and Nativity Catholic Church.
