Bert Boyd, 89, formerly of 221 E. 16th St., South Sioux City, died Saturday at Sunrise Manor in Sioux City, where he had lived the past six years.

Mr. Boyd was born April 17, 1890, Albaton, Iowa. He married Helen G. Niebuhr at Dakota City. She died March 16, 1976 at Sioux City.

Mr. Boyd had farmed at Winnebago, Neb., until moving to Sioux City in 1945. He moved to South Sioux City in 1954. He worked as a machinist while living in Sioux City. He retired in 1954.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of South Sioux, Olive Branch Lodge, Sioux City Consistory and the Scottish Rite Bodies, He was a recipient of the 50-year Jordan Medal from the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include two sons, Harold of Winnebago, and Richard of Gardena, Calif., a daughter, Miss Helen Boyd of Moorhead, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Jack E. Becker Funeral Home in South Sioux City; The Rev. Walter H. Swetnam, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in South Sioux City, will officiate. Burial he in the Sloan (Iowa) City Cemetery,
