Leo Robert Hildebrand, 72, of 1461 N.W. 106 St. Olive, died following surgery, Sunday, February 8, 1998, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

Services were private.

Mr. Hildebrand was born in Salix, January 27, 1926 to Leo and Nellie (Mulvihill) Hildebrand.

After attending school in Luton, he joined the US Navy serving during World War II. He married Arlene Lines of Luton, to this union two sons were born, Larry and Terry.

Mr. Hildebrand lived the past 30 years in Des Moines, retiring as a field auditor for Mobile Oil Co. He was a member of Urbandale American Legion Post and Navel Reunions. He was preceded in death by his wife Arlene, March 21, 1991.

He is survived by his sons, Larry of Johnston, Terry of Urbandale, sister, Margaret Dombeowski and husband Ed of St. Charles, III., three grandsons, and a great grand child, six nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Merle Hay Funeral Home handled arrangements. Final resting place at Merle Hay Mausoleum.
