HINTON, Iowa — Lola Marie Eickholt, 66, of Hinton died Tuesday March 10, 1998 at her residence of pancreatic cancer.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Merrill, Iowa, with the Rev. Richard Ball and the Rev. James Bruch officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Pierson, Iowa. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today with the family present from 6 to 9 p.m. and a Scripture service at 7 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City.

Mrs. Eickholt was born Aug. 31, 1931, in Pierson, the daughter of Albert and Clara (Treptowy Herbold. She graduated from Pierson High School in 1949 and from the National Business Training School in Sioux City. She was employed with Royal Typewriter Company.

She married. Donald Eickholt on Feb. 12, 1955 in Sioux City. The couple lived in Sioux City before moving to their farm in Hinton in 1962.

She was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. She enjoyed crafts and reading.

Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Marilyn Eickholt of Sioux City, Marj Eickholt-Murphy and her husband Paul Murphy of Newtown, Conn., Deb and her husband Joe Robinson of Hinton, and Diane and her husband Brett Dynes of Annawan, Ill.; two sons, Ray of Sioux City and Joe and his wife Penny of Hinton; her mother of Sioux City; a brother, Harold Herbold of Sioux City; a sister, Rosella Rock of Lake City, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Caroline Herbold of Sioux City; and 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Ona Mae Herbold; and a brother, Adolph Herbold.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Todd, Scott Held, Mike Petersen, Karl Staben, Bob Kenaley and David Dandurand.
