PIERSON, Iowa - Margaret D. Nissen, 91, of Pierson died Monday, May 25, 1998, at the Kingsley Nursing and Rehab Center in Kingsley, Iowa.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Salem Lutheran Church in rural Correctionville, Iowa, with the Rev. Michael Kroona and the Rev. Marvin Mueller officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Pierson. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Earnest-Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley.

Mrs. Nissen was born June 27, 1906, in Schwabstedt, Germany, the daughter of Johannes and Margaretha (Clausen) Bohrnsen. She came to the United States in 1934 and settled in Schleswig, Iowa.

She married Lorenz Nissen on Aug. 21, 1936, in South Sioux City. The couple lived in Ida Grove, Iowa until 1941 when they moved to Pierson.

Survivors include her husband; a son and his wife, G. Lorenz and Jeanette of Pierson; a daughter and her husband, Beverly and Reginald White of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren, Kevin, Steven and Larry Nissen, David and Gary White and Melissa Mulkey; six great-grand¬children; and two sisters-in-law, Ella Nissen of Correctionville and Anna Hinrichs of Garding, Germany.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Linda Nissen, four brothers and a sister.
