KINGSLEY, Iowa -- Dorathea Bauer, 94, of Kingsley died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Salem Lutheran Church in rural Correctionville, Iowa, with the Rev. Marvin Mueller and intern Pastor Scott Meier officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Pierson, Iowa. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with the family present from 7. to 8, p.m., at the Earnest-Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley.

Mrs. Bauer was born Dec. 19, 1903 in Schleswig, Germany. She was raised in Germany and moved to the United States and the Hinton, Iowa area.

She married Henry Bauer on Feb. 4, 1931, in Sioux City. The couple farmed in the Pierson and Kingsley area until retiririg. He died Sept. 29, 1972. She continued to live on the farm until recently when she moved to North Park in Sioux City.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and the Salem Lutheran Ladies Aid.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Milton and Judy of Pierson; a daughter, Lois Bauer of Kingsley; and two granddaughters, Natalie and Alison Bauer.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and six sisters.
