Robert W. Coover Sr., 75, Sioux City, died Saturday, March 12, 1994, at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Calvin Gale of Peyton, Colo. officiating. The body was cremated. Visitation with family present will be one hour prior to service time Tuesday.

Mr. Coover was born Sept. 17, 1918, in Holly Springs, Iowa, and attended school there. He moved to Sioux City in 1942. He was a Siouxland bus`driver for a time, and for 20 years worked in highway maintenance for the Iowa Department of Transportation. He retired in the early 1980s.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 580.

Survivors include, his wife, the former Fern Morgan; a son, Ronald D. Coover of Sioux City; two daughters and their husbands, Debra and Kim Kelly of Sioux City and Marsha and David Gale of Yelm, Wash.; a brother, Thomas Coover, and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.
