True F. Coover 1915-1986

True F. Coover, 71, 110 Rustin St. died Wednesday in a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday Rustin Avenue United Methodist Church. The Rev. Stan Long Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m today in Berkemier Funeral Home.

Mr. Coover was born April 3, 1915, in Morengo, Iowa, and moved with his family to Hornick, Iowa, as a child. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Virginia Chilton Oct. 1, 1944, at Hornick. They made their home in Sioux City after the war. A carpenter, he was employed by Holtz and Klinger Construction Companies until his retirement in 1963.

Mr. Coover was a member of Rustin Avenue United Methodist Church and Carpenters Union Local 948.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard and Raymond, both of Sioux City; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Ryan of Sioux City; two brothers, Thomas of Savannah, Ga., and Howard of Sioux City; sisters, June Shattuck of Smithland, Iowa, Nina Martinson of Newcastle, Neb., Joyce Swalley of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Janice Dahl of San Diego, Calif; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
