SIOUX CITY -- Kevin Joseph Risk, 54, of Greeley, Colo., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, from acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Allnutt Macy Chapel, Greeley. A reception at the Moose Lodge will follow services. Kevin was born Feb. 24, 1957, in Sioux City to Ron and Alice Risk. He moved to Greeley in 1981 and began working at Monfort of Colorado. He worked with Monfort for 17 years before leaving to own and operate Colorado Precision Plating (CPP) in 1996. A personal joy of Kevin's was to be able to provide many of his friends and family with jobs, through CPP and its success.

Kevin married Cheri Miller in 2007. He loved to ride his motorcycle with Cheri, friends and members of the Moose Lodge. Kevin was blessed with an amazing sense of humor, which made him a joy to be around in any situation.

Prior to succumbing to AML, Kevin was able to meet his grandson, Bryson Risk Barr, who was born Sept. 30, 2011.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Cheri Risk of Greeley; daughter, Torrie Barr (Jaden) of Windsor, Colo., son, Brandon Risk of Santa Ana, Calif.; stepdaughters, Heather and Tammy; stepson, Eric; mother, Alice Jo Risk of Greeley; father, Ronal Risk (Sherle) of Sioux City; brother, Mike Risk (Renee) of Plano, Texas; sister, Renee Brown (Kevin) of Greeley; ex-wife, Sherea Risk of Denver; beloved dog, Bailey Risk; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Barlow Foundation (supports adults who are battling cancer) in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 702 13th St., Greeley, CO 80631.
