SIOUX CITY | Steven D. Headley, 34, of Sioux City died Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Steven was born on April 19, 1978, in Des Moines, to David and Jaynee (Lehman) Headley. He attended Morningside Christian School in Sioux City. He graduated from East High School in 1996.

Steven married Karrea Madden on July 27, 2002. Steven worked at Gateway 2000 for three years. He worked at Consumers' Supply for three years as a truck driver and at Bomgaars Warehouse for three years. He finally returned to Consumers' Supply in 2006 and worked there until his health deteriorated in November 2012.

The couple were active members at Loving Faith Fellowship, where Steven enjoyed teaching Sunday School for the past several years. Steven was very interested in politics and was a life member of the NRA. He had a desire to serve in the military, but was denied due to his heart condition.

Steven was a people person, who enjoyed talking to everyone. He didn't know a stranger and seemed to be a friend to everyone he met. He thoroughly enjoyed his work at Consumers' Supply and all the people he worked with, but most of all he was a devoted husband and loving father.

After his death, he touched the lives of approximately 80 different people by being a tissue donor.

Steven is survived by his wife, Karrea; two children, Sam, 7, and Adrian, 4; his parents, David and Jaynee Headley of Sioux City; a brother, Brian Headley of Sioux City; his in-laws, Vince and Charlene Madden of Sioux City; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Rebekah; and his grandparents, Arnold Headley of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Warren and Mildred Lehman of Madrid, Iowa.
