A long time resident, a highy respected an much loved citizen of Sloan passed away Saturday morning, October 25.

Mrs. Tawzer was active in the ife of the Christian church and when her health would permit took a lively interest in civic affairs giving of her time and talent to the welfare of the community life.

Eva Lorena Huddleston was born in the vicinity of Minonk Illinois on February 21st, 1867, and died on October 36, 1947 of a heart attack on the way to a hospital in Sioux City.

She attended school at Minonk and Wahington, Illinois. After graduation she taught a rural school for several years. Later she took a year of Liberal Arts at Eureka College, in Illinois. After which she returned to teach at Roanoke, Illinois where she met and married Ralph
Tawser, Superintendent of schools. To this union four children were born Helen Louise, Ralph William, Frank Leslie and Henry Donald.

Soon after their marriage, Mr and Mrs. Tawser moved to Secor, Kansas and lived there for three years. In the fall of 1898 the family moved to Sloan, Ia. where she had since resided.

She was active in the work of her church as long as health and strength permitted. She taught the Women's class for many years until failing health forced her retirement, but she continued to have a keen interest in her church up to the last.

Her husband, William Fanklin died at Sloan in 1902, Her sons, Ralph William dier at Camp Dallas, Texas in 1918, and Frank Leslie died in Chicago, Illinois in 1936.

She is survived by one daughter, Helen L. Andrews, one son also by eight grand children.

Funeral services were held in the Christia church on Tuesday afternoon, Rev B. A. Gann officiating.
