Vera Inez Thauren, 84, Sloan, Iowa, passed away February 8, 1982, at the Indian Hills Care Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

She was born January 2, 1898, to William Greedy and Nona Greenrnayer Greedy at Farragut, Iowa. On July 22, 1943, she was united in marriage to William George Thauren at Omaha, Nebraska. He preceded her in death July 11, 1969. She had lived at Sloan for over 40 years.

She was a member of the U.C.C. Congregational Church at Sloan and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include four nephews; Phil Greedy, Sioux City, Lawrence Paul, Sloan, Donald Paul, Sergeant Bluff, and Charles Paul, Denver, Colorado; and one niece, Maxine Losh, Moorhead, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother George and one sister Beulah.

Services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 1982 at the Wood Funeral Chapel at Sloan with Rev. David Beckerdite officiating. Mrs. Wilbur Ray played organ selections during the service.

Interment was in Graceland Cemetery at Sioux City with arrangements by the Wood Funeral Home at Sloan, Iowa.
