SIOUX CITY -- Alice Marie (Call) Heffelfinger, 85, of Sioux City died Sept. 30, 2011, at Bickford Cottage.

Private family memorial service will be held at a later date at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Alice was born in Omaha, on Feb. 26, 1926, to Maud and Harry Christiansen. Alice attended Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo., and the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.

She married John H. Call in Omaha on May 24, 1947. John died on Aug. 19, 1994. She later married Marcus W.K. Heffelfinger in Sioux City on May 8, 2004.

Alice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, American Girls Book Club, and the Sioux City Junior League. She enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with family and friends in Sioux City, Lake Okoboji, and Florida.

Survivors include her husband, Marcus; two daughters, Julie Artz of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Barbara (Larry) Law of Duncombe, Iowa; two sons, John R. (Vanessa) Call of Kent, Wash., and G. Thomas (Elaine) Call of Spirit Lake, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Marjorie Christiansen of Overland Park, Kan.
