SIOUX CITY -- Joan Elizabeth Beebe, 57, of Dupont, Wash., formerly of Sioux City, died Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, in Dupont.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Calvary Cemetery, Sioux City, with military rites conducted by the U.S. Iowa Army National Guard. Arrangements in Sioux City are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Services were held in Steilacoom, Wash., on Sept. 27.

Joan was born in Sioux City on Feb. 6, 1954, the daughter of Richard and Harriette Beebe. Joan served 21 years in the U.S. Army as a physical therapist and retired as a lieutenant colonel. After retirement, she continued to work as a physical therapist in Washington.

She is survived by her brother, Warren (Diane) Beebe; sisters, Barbara (Harold) Bunt, Gerry (Fred) McGee, and Teresa (Joe) Blackstone; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Marilyn McCullough.
