SIOUX CITY -- Rozella Jean Charbonneau, 76, of Sioux City died Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at her residence under the care of Hospice and her family.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Craig A. Collison officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service. Rozella was born Feb. 27, 1935, in Storm Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and MaryAnn (Zimmer) Peck. She attended and graduated from St. Mary's School in Storm Lake. Following her graduation from high school, she moved to Sioux City and attended St. Joseph School of Nursing, where she received her education as a registered nurse, graduating in 1955.

She was united in marriage with Edmond Charbonneau at Maryhill Church on May 12, 1956. Rozella worked as a nurse at St. Joseph Hospital, then worked at the Family Practice Center until 1971, when she worked from her home as a mother and a private duty nurse. In 1992, she did clerical work for Dr. Curtiss Farrell at his clinic, retiring in 2002.

Rozella was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with all of her family, and loved to cook great meals for all who gathered at her home.

She will be missed by her family which includes her sons, Michael and his wife, Robin of Easton, Kan., Mark and his wife, Brenda of Sioux City; her two daughters, Mary Nyreen and her husband, Roger of Alcester, S.D., and Melissa Welty and her husband, Kevin of Sioux City; her brother, Robert Peck of Storm Lake; two sisters, Kathleen Letts and Berniece Henke, both of Cherokee, Iowa; her seven grandchildren, Heather, Amanda, Jeffrey, Emily, Elizabeth, Abigail, and Daniel; her two great-grandsons, Ryan and Cooper; along with many nieces and nephews; and a special niece and friend, Linda Scott.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, Edmond in 1989; her parents; her brothers, Lou, Raymond, Frank, Leonard, Lloyd; and her sisters, Ann and Grace.
