Mrs. Freda I. Taft; 81,R.F.D. Sioux City, Iowa, died at St. Luke's Hospital Wednesday evening, April 2, 1984. Services were held at Meyers Bros. Colonial Chapel Friday, April 4, at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Philip Dicks of Trimble Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Logan Park Cemetery, Sioux City.

Mrs. Taft was the former Freda I. Arvesen and was born at Luton, Iowa, June 22, 1902. She grew up on a farm in the Hornick, Holly Springs area. Graduating from the Holly Springs High School. She taught school in. Plymouth Co. and at Lawton prior to her marriage to George A. Taft August 3, 1923, in Holly Springs. The couple farmed in Plymouth County. He died in August, 1960.

Survivors include one son, Robert W. Taft of Las Vegas, Nevada, and a daughter, Kathryn L. Taft and three grandchildren. Two brothers, Edward I. Arvesen, Sioux City and Ralph C. Burns of Hornick, Ia. Two sister-in-laws, Mrs. Frank Chute, Onawa; and Mrs. Clarence Taft, Sioux City.
