Kenneth William Brucker, 82, of Sioux City died Friday, April 5, 2002, at his residence.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a. m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jon Gaul officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8:30 p.m. today, with family present 7 to 8:30 p.m., at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.

Mr. Brucker was born Oct. 28, 1919, in Sioux City, the son of Jacob Frederick and Alberta (Williams) Brucker. He graduated from Central High School in Januaryi 1939. He married Viola Faith on Oct. 20, 1943, at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, S.D.

He was inducted into the U.S. Army in October 1940. He transferred to the Army Air Corps and graduated from flight school in August 1943. He served in the European Theatre of Operation during World War II as a B-17 pilot. Among his commendations he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with three oakleaf clusters. He was discharged from the service in 1945. He had attained the rank of captain.

He was employed with Burroughs Corporation as a field engineer for 28 years: Following his retirement from Burroughs in 1976, he went into real estate sales.

He had been a member of Grace United Methodist Churcli. since 1961 and, the Methodist Men. He was a member of the Distinguished Flying Cross Society, Morningside Lodge 615, Abu Bela Shrine, the Scottish Rite, and American Legion 0697.

Survivors include, his wife; a son and his wife, Fred and Teresa Brucker of Overland Park, Kan.; two daughters and their husbands, Kenna Lee and Roger Christians of LaCrosse, Wis., and Teri and Gary Ellsworth of Bloomnington, Minn.; three grandsons, Jeffrey and his wife, Lisa Christians of Hoffman Estates, Ill., Jason Christians of Roseville, Minn., and David and his wife, Holly Brucker of Olathe, Kan.; and a great granddaughter, Lauren Christians of Hoffman Estates, Ill.
