Vivian was born on Jan. 2, 1922 in Sloan, Iowa, to John and Martha (Trobaugh) Selby. She attended Sioux City Schools. Vivian was a homemaker, raising her son. She worked in the Armour Packing House for 18 years.

Vivian's favorite hobbies were sewing, playing bingo, doing crafts and collecting porcelain dolls. She loved animals and being outdoors. She enjoyed socializing and "back in the days" loved a good game of poker. She was known for her spunky, fun-loving nature and was dearly referred to as "grandma" by many. She will be missed dearly. Many thanks to Recover Health and Touchstone Living Center for the care they provided.

She is survived by her son, Robert Amland of Sioux City; stepson, Duke Amland; stepdaughter, Shirley Kunkel; grandson, Robert Ferdig; great-granddaughter, Cerisa Ferdig; and many friends that she considered family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and three sisters.
