SIOUX CITY | Raymond G. "Ray" Larson, 79, formerly of Sioux City, passed away from this life on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013.

Per Ray's wishes, his body was cremated. There will be no memorial service; his family will celebrate his life privately.

Raymond "Ray" was born Aug. 13, 1933, in Des Moines, Iowa. He was married to Dorothy J. Larson and to this union four children were born.

Ray enjoyed gardening, cars, traveling and a large love for animals.

He is survived by his three daughters, Laura Hunter of Winterset, Iowa, Cynthia Raye (Sammee) Schnee of Sioux City, and Brenda Lee (Curt) Hemmingson of Granger, Iowa; two granddaughters, Amanda (Scott) Capps and Mindie Lee Schiefen; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; a son, Raymond A. Larson; and a grandson, Robbie Schnee.
