IDA GROVE, IA - LeRoy F. Schimmer, age 65, of Ida Grove, IA, formerly of Danbury, IA, died on Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove.

The memorial service was held on Saturday, March 10, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at Armstrong Chapel in Mapleton, IA. Officiating was Rev. Terry Roder. Music was provided by Julie Hamann who sang "Lord's Prayer" and by musical selection chosen by LeRoy's family. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service.

LeRoy was born on January 31, 1942, in Danbury, the son of Lawrence and Gertrude Schimmer. LeRoy grew up in Danbury and received his education at Danbury Catholic Schools.

LeRoy spent 40 years in the trucking industry, beginning as an owner-operator and working for various trucking companies throughout his career.

He is survived by his mother, Gertrude Schimmer of Ida Grove; his loving wife, Judy of Ida Grove; 2 daughters, Terri Sieve of Alleman, IA, and Tammi Seidl and her husband Ron of Halbur, IA; 2 sons, Todd Schimmer and his wife Carmen of Carroll, IA, and Troy Schimmer and his wife Kristin of Des Moines, IA; 4 step children, Becky Treiber of Omaha, NE, Pat Treiber and his wife Marce of Sioux City, IA, Mike Treiber and his wife Donna of Battle Creek, IA, and Jory Treiber and his wife Terri of Ida Grove, IA; 22 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Kevin Sieve of Alleman, IA; and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence and his brother, Ron.
