SALIX, Iowa — Wray L. Buser, 62, mayor of Salix 10 years, died Tuesday at Meeker, Colo.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the United Church of Christ Congregational at Sloan. The Rev. Victor Engelmann will officiate. Masonic rites will be conducted by Attica Lodge 502 AF&AM of Sloan. Burial will be in the Sloan Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Smith-Rhodes post 295, American Legion of Sloan.

There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today in the Wood Funeral Home at Sloan.

Mr. Buser was born Sept. 15, 1917, at Sloan. He was a lifelong resident of Sloan and Salix area. He graduated from Sloan High School in 1936. He was owner and operator of Wraybill Dehydrating Co. Inc. 32 years, in partnership with his brother, Bill. He also farmed and retired in 1975.

He married Nolma Watts Nov, 7, 1964, at Missouri Valley.

Mr. Buser was a Navy veteran of World War II, Was a member of Attica Masonic Lodge 502 AF&AM of Sloan, Athena Chapter 460 Order of Eastern Star of Sloan, Abu-Bela Shrine Temple of Sioux City, Yorkrite and Royal Arch Masons, and Smith Rhodes American Post 295 of Sloan. He was a past member and past president of the Shrine Chanters.

Survivors include the widow; one son Wray Joy, of Meeker, Colo.; one daughter, Patricia Jones of Council Bluffs; one stepdaughter, Donna Ozburn of Salix, five grandchildren, four step-grandchildien and one great-grandchild.
