SALIX, Iowa — Pierre P. Choquette, 81, of Salix died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix, with the Rev. R.P. Wieling officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, with military rites conducted by American Legion George Nelson Post 662 of Sergeant Bluff. Visitation will be 6 of 8 p.m. today, with a Scripture service at 7 p.m., at Wood Funeral Home in Sloan, Iowa.

Mr. Choquette was born March 16, 1917, in Salix, the son of Joseph and Agnes (Bernard) Choquette. He graduated from St. Joseph School in Salix. He was a veteran of World War II. He had been the caretaker of St. Joseph Church and Cemetery for many years.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Salix Fire Department and American Legion George Nelson Post 662.

Survivors include several cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald.
