Stephen Alfred Carter Jr., 77, of Mission, Texas, formerly of Sioux City, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999, at his residence.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today at Virgil Wilson Chapel in Mission, with the Rev. Duane Kirchner of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in McAllen, Texas officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Carter was born June 2, 1921, in Sioux City. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a cattle buyer for Armour Co. in Sioux City. He had been a resident of Mission for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia; two sons and their wives, Stephen III and Pamela of Omaha, Neb., and Charles and Cathy of Mission; two brothers, Harold and Donald; and four grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the charity of choice.
