PIERSON, Iowa- Louis Fixsel,87, of Pierson died Saturday, Dec. 6, 1997, at the Heartland Care Center in Marcus, Iowa.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pierson United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Keith Pals officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 6 p.m., at the Earnest-Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley, Iowa.

Mr. Fixsel was born April 29, 1910, in Anthon, Iowa, the son of Fred and Kate (Sheffield) Fixsel. He was baptized in the Methodist faith and raised in the Rock Branch, Iowa area.

He married Opal Davis on Jan. 26, 1935, in Sioux City. The couple moved to the Pierson area, where they farmed until retiring.

He was a past director of the Pierson Elevator Board and past member of the township committee for the ASC.

Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Daryl and Sandra of Correctionville, Iowa; three grandchildren, Debra Wilcox, Denyse Miester and joleen Fixsel; a great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Edna Bruhe of Correctionville and Ada Denlinger of Remsen, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ray and a sister, Eva.
