Pierson, Iowa--Laura O. Weinreich, 94, of Pierson died Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997, at the Happy Siesta Nursing Home in Remsen, Iowa.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Pierson, with the Rev. John Battern officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Pierson. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., all at the Barker Funeral Home in Correctionville, Iowa.

Mrs. Weinreich was born Feb. 21, 1902, at Pierson, to William Flamme and Dorothea Benedix. She received her education in rural Woodbury County, graduating from Pierson, High School in 1920. She married Art Weinreich on Feb. 17, 1923, at Dakota City, Neb. The couple lived and farmed near Pierson, retiring in 1959, when they moved into Pierson. He died in 1962.

She was an affiliate member of Pierson United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She also was a member of the Woodbury County Farm Bureau for 45 years, a leader of Pierson Handy Helpers, 4-H club for 10 years, and a former long time member and past noble grand of Pierson Valley Rebecca Lodge and past district deputy president.

Survivors include one daughter and her husband, Betty and Donald J. Jahn of Pierson; five grandchildren, Russel of New Port News, Va., Lorri Slaymaker of Spencer, Iowa, Chari Landers of Sioux City, Gregory,Jahn of Le Mars, and Arthur Jahn of Omaha, Neb.; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one infant daughter, Faith; one brother, Clarence Flamme; and one sister, Lena Reinking.
