CORRECTIONVILLE-, Iowa, — Henry F. Knaack, 84, of Correctionville died Thursday, June 1, 1995, at his home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Salem Lutheran Church in rural Correctionville with the Rev. Marvin Mueller officiating. Burial will be in Pierson Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 7:30 p.m. and a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, at the Barker Funeral Home in Correctionville.

Mr. Knaack was born April 26, 1911, in rural Correctionville, the son of William and Dorothea (Bauer) Knaack. He married Edna Grabe Oct. 8, 1941, at the Salem Lutheran Church in rural Correctionville. The couple farmed in Union and Rutland Townships for 14 years. Mr. Knaack worked for Archer Oil from 1960 to 1991, and was also employed by Grothaus Express for eight years during the 1960s. They retired to Correctionville in 1983.

Mr. Knaack was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in rural Correctionville, where he served as Sunday school superintendent for 23 years and on the church council for 16 years. He also belonged to the church building committee and parish unit building committee, and served as the Lutheran League president and delegate to the American Lutheran Church Convention.

Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Keith and Roberta of Carol Stream, Ill.; two daughters and their husbands, Marcia and Larry Edwards of Marion, Iowa, and Loretta and Russ Murphy of Mullica Hill, N.J.: six grandchildren, Keri, Christopher, Robert, Michael, Molly and Kurt; a brother and his wife, Lavern and Ethel of Correctionville; and three sisters, Adelia and her husband, Elmer Timmermann of Galva, Iowa, Caroline Herbold of Sioux City, and Dorothy and her husband, Paul Anderson of Correctionville.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Volrath and William Jr., and two stepmothers.
