PIERSON, Iowa — Hilda Louise Hardie, 95, of Pierson died Tuesday, May 30, 1995, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Kingsley.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Pierson Christian Church with the Rev. Les Larson officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery at Pierson. Earnest-Dickison-Michaelson Funeral Home of Kingsley is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Hardie was born April 10, 1900, in Pierson, the daughter of William H. and Lena (Benedix) Hinkhouse. She attended rural school in Union Township. On Jan. 28, 1920, she married William D. Hardie at Pierson. The couple farmed for many years north of Pierson. They retired and moved into Pierson. Mr. Hardie died Jan. 11, 1983. She was an avid golfer and spent summers at Arnolds Park.

Mrs. Hardie was a member of the Pierson Christian Church, Christian Women's Fellowship, Tuesday Club, 50 year member of Order of Eastern Star, and past member of Pierson Legion Auxiliary. She had served on the Pierson School Board and was a member of the Pierson Golf Club.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, William and Jean of Kingsley and George and Laiyns of Pierson; five grandchildren, Tom, Scott and Charles Hardie, Leslie Steward and Lisa Hardie, and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, William and George Hinkhouse, a daughter-in-law, Helen and a grandson, Allen.
