Rosina Elizabeth Schimmer Corum deceased May 11, 2009 at her son's home in Southern California.

A memorial service was held at Douglass & Zook Colonial Chapel in Monrovia; CA.

Rosina was born the ninth child to Henry and Katherine (Erlemeier) Schimmer in the family home at Danbury on August 6, 1927. She attended St. Mary's Catholic Church, and after graduation from St. Mary's School, she continued her education at the Danbury Public High School in 1947.

In August 1947, Rosina moved to California to be with her sister, Loretta and her husband at the time of the birth of Loretta's daughter. She then remained in California where she met and married Ray G. Corum on September 11, 1953. She entered civil service where she continued working until the birth of her son, Kenneth L., born in January of 1971. Upon Kenneth reaching school age, Rosina began working in retail sales and clerical work, retiring from Fedco on September 20, 1992 in Los Angeles. Rosina worked much of her married life, including working at a Library in the Los Angeles area.

Rosina's bout with pneumonia as a baby left her with a life-long bronchial weakness which accelerated in her later years.

She spent a number of years in First Church of the Nazarene, Pasadena, CA, followed by a couple years at Sierra Madre Congregational. A few years into retirement, health concerns persuaded her to cease church attendance. Her last days were spent in hospice care at a friend's house in Laguna Niguel, in Orange County, CA. It was there she passed on May 11, 2009.

Rosina was predeceased by her husband; her parents; 3 brothers, Alfred in Germany, Charles, and Joseph; and 4 sisters, Helena Schimmer, Silvina Schrunk, Mary Delores Berg and Pauline Eberhart.

She is survived by her son Kenneth of Southern California, her sister Loretta Landrum of Oregon, and numereous nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends. She will be greatly missed by many.
