DANBURY -- Nevada L. Hinrickson passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2009, at her home in Danbury at the age of 60 years and 30 days.

The Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton. Officiating was Pastor Len Garrison. Visitation was held prior to the memorial service.

Armstrong Funeral Service of Mapleton and Danbury was in charge of the arrangements.

Nevada Lee Hinrickson was born on April 24, 1949, in Hornell, New York, the daughter of Shelly and Flora (Clark) Mills. She was raised in Dansville, New York, graduating from Dansville High School. She lived in Texas for many years before moving to Iowa in 1988.

She was united in marriage to Andrew Clyde Hinrickson on June 14, 2003, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Nevada enjoyed painting and making afghans (blankets) for her family, her grandchildren and friends. She loved nature, camping, fishing, and watching after her plants and her "best friend", Skeeter, her little dog.

Those left to treasure Nevada's memory include her husband, Andrew Hinrickson of Danbury, Iowa; grandson, Dustin Alan Ladd of Danbury, Iowa; children, Charles Mills of Texas, Valarie Ladd of Commerce, Georgia, Dudley Ladd of Mapleton, Iowa, Oliver Ladd of Florida, Jason Ladd of Kimball, Nebraska, Tim Ladd of South Carolina, and Trixie Ladd of Tucson, Arizona; step children, Clyde, Maria, Steven, Mark, Brian, and Candy Hinrickson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; grandchildren and great grandchildren; three brothers, Larry Mills of Alexandria Louisiana, Walt Mills of Texas, and Marnard Mills of Angelica, New York; and one sister, Alice Crudaugh of Canseraga, New York.

Nevada was preceded in death by her parents, Shelly and Flora Mills; grandsons, Dre and Dakota Ladd; father-in-law, Clyde Hinrickson; and one brother stillborn, Richard Mills.
