Beatrice Esther Thompson, 75, Smithland, Iowa, passed away April 14, 1983, at St. Luke's Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa after a brief illness.

She was born November 22, 1907 at Holly Springs, Iowa, to Stephen and Nettie Jackson Francis. On June 18, 1949, she was united in marriage to Dean A. Thompson at South Sioux City, Neb. She had been a resident of Smithland since 1949, and was a member of the United Methodist Church at Smithland, Iowa.

Surviviors include her husband, Dean, one brother, Elmer Francis, Minneapolis, Minn., and several nieces.

Services were held on Monday, Apirl 18, 1983, at 1 p.m. at the United Methodist Church at Smithland with Rev. Dale Church officiating.

Mrs. Saul Mitchell, the organist, played the selection "How Great Thou Art".

Bearers were Gene Kelsey, Harold Bohall, Duane Clark, James McDonald, Francis Welte and Kenneth Lounsberry.

Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sioux City Iowa with arrangements by the Willman Funeral Home of Rodney, Iowa.
